Just pile it on!
« on: August 06, 2008, 06:04:09 PM »
Unhappy news over the last few days concerning some of our R65 family. A helpless feeling coupled with a sadness that there is nothing we can do except keep a good thought for all. As to faith, if one does not believe in something, then there is no possibility of hope.

This past two weeks, I personally lost two friends that I have worked with for many years. Both were special to me. I try to remember them during happier times.

And also this past week, our community lost a fourteen-month old little boy when his mother, after unloading the car from a family trip to a local water park, FORGOT he was in the car. This is insane. How does a parent forget their child?

And today, at 1530 hours local, my soldier son telephoned to tell me he has received orders to report on 15 August 2008 to begin a specialized train-up for a deployment to Afghanistan. He returned from his third deployment, to Iraq, in March of this year.

My youngest son is a thirty-three year old Staff Sergeant, with a wife and two preschool-aged daughters, and has been a combat arms trooper since age nineteen. Born to soldier, he is the consummate professional, hates war but believes in duty and the brotherhood of like-minded soldiers.

May God bless us all.

Sounds like a rough time, Monte.  Sue, Bill, and your family.  Even the dog:  I love dogs.

As for one part you mentioned though, I will quote a song I know, from the OT:  "Can a mother forget her nursing child, or fail to have compassion upon it?  Yeah, she may forget, but lo, will I  not.  Israel, you are always before me."

It sounds awful and is, but it's not new.

I don't even know what to write on the "Goodbye" post on the Boxerworks phorum.  "I hurt and will miss you!" sounds stupid to me but is accurate.  It seems so pointless to bother with things like that.  Will he ever read it?

If you don't know, the voice of the song I quoted is God's.
