Hello all,

What a great place! I was searching for parts and found this site. Thanks to all who love to share from experience.
I'm new here but not new to R65's. I've owned my 83' (Blue) since 1990 and have an 87' R80 (Black) acquired in 1995. First big ride on the R65 was 3 weeks after purchase. An August trip to the Canadian Rockies, from Portland, OR, was the destination. Many things were learned......to make the buzziness at 65mph go away...speed up to 75mph...when the temperature drops way below freezing overnight, R65's can be a little cranky in the morning (it started on the absolute last bit of juice from the battery....and if you happen to run out of gas 3 miles from home, go ahead a lay the bike on its side, just for fun, and discover that second reserve. Redundancy is a good thing. I was hooked. Airheads are so much fun!

Thanks,
Paul

Welcome Paul,  You've owned your R65 for about 17 years now, I guess another hard core owner in the membership.

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

Welcome, Paul.

Do you know Ed Miller?  He is out your way (from Indiana, you two are neighbors).

Thanks for bringing back a lot of memories.   Both Bob Roller and I bought our R65's new, when we were kids...  [smiley=1drink.gif]

Paul, do you hang out with the Airheads?  I can't remember if I've met you.  Mike lives right up there somewhere, like Beaverton, and has two R65s.  I'm down in Falls City, west of Salem in the coast range, but I try to make it up to the Portland tech days.  There's supposed to be one the third weekend of this month just into WA but I can't make it.

Welcome to the forum and hope to meet up with you some time!

Thanks for the welcome.
No, I am not a member of the Airheads...yet. I did meet a couple of members (can't remember names) at the recent opening of BMWOR Tigard. I've got all the paperwork to sign-up. I'm looking forward to it.

Welcome!  I am taking some note of those forum members from the west coast of the continent as that will be the next big unknown destination! Sure be nice to meet some of you and, of course, Joan, Melena and Arla the latter I do happily keep meeting at West Bend and Lima Nationals. The frappr map will come in handy and I hope new members are pinpointing their home locations.  We (forum) are certainly getting very big and most importantly, quite international in flavour!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".
