I have spent some time looking at logs and doing some cleanup today and found a lot of PMs in my messaging outbox, sent to various folks (some pretty old), that have never been read.  [smiley=shocked2.gif] I am curious if this is some sort of system/forum PM engine glitch or if y'all just usually ignore me... :-/  If it's the latter don't worry about it, I understand, I've been married for 30 years and am used to being ignored...

Speaking for myself, I've only had a few PMs sent to me (by you, Justin, along with Rob and a couple of others)  which I have opened, read and responded to.  I don't think I have any problems on this end!  

I wish I got more PMs!  :-/  Of course, I was never very popular in high school, either!

OK, Ed, you were one of the culprits.  Do you read the e-mails the board sends you and then just go into messaging and delete the messages without actually opening them?  That might explain it.  If this is the case, then I may submit a request to the YaBB folks to have another category, like deleted without reading, added - if possible.  I think Yabb version 2.2 is in Beta...

No, I would read any email the board sent me, but I don't believe it has sent me any.

Well, you can see the first part of the message without opening it.

A person could think that is all there is to the message (or get enough information) and then delete it without opening it.

I also get an email with the PM, so I don't have to open it in the forum.  I usually do, though.   8-)

That is normal operation.  If you post a PM to someone the system will e-mail the notice to them and it also sends along the content of the PM.  I'm thinking this might be an oversight on the developers that if you delete the PM, without actually opening it up in the Forum message system, it will still show as unread in your outbox...
