79 r-65 With a 02 yzf 426 front end, Bultaco gas tank, 80 RM 125 seat, 16.5 in Progressive shocks layed down w/7" of travel, Custom 2 into 1 exhaust with Yosh Silencer, Frame gussets, Custom sub-frame.
I have only ridden it for a few minutes at this time, But seems to be great, I need to stiffen up the rear and some other odds and ends. Lost a lot of weight, seems very zippy!  I intend to race it in vintage MX, I made the lights removable and it is reg.for the street.

I've been looking at my R65 that way for some time, but that work is WAY beyond what I'm willing to tackle.  Or pay for.  Nice bike.  I was wondering if it had parts off that German GS site, where they sell frames and stuff to convert airheads.  I don't have the link here or I would post it.   :(

That is a stock rear rim, I'll try to post some more pics. I am actually going to race this in a vintage motocross. I made the lights removable,Although it is street legal. I did take it for a brief test ride on the road and it did seem very nice. It seemed to have a lot more pickup then before,I don't know if it is the wieght loss or the Exhaust? I'll keep you guys posted.

Rob, I don't think the R80 has any more horse power than the '81 on R65s, both right at 50 according to the factory lies.   ;D  I'm sure it varied by model though.
