Welcome to the the new and revised forum.  We are all glad you found us!  

How are your beautiful butterfly trees doing?  I remember the pictures that you put up on the other forum and about the ride you took up into the mountains.  Have you had any more wonderful adventures like that lately?

Gee, Melena ...the butterfly pics were the first thing I thought of too when I saw Lucio's name! I was very impressed as well. The naturalist down at Point Pelee N.P. counted 1200 monarchs gathering for their trip south this year which she said was more than in past years.

Mexico is fine, as to say, almost.
This time you can see, if you allow me, two pics. The amazing "Piramide de los nichos" in Tajin  archealogical site, magnificent place, because of its piramids surroundig nothing more than nature, paceful air, and nice people.  365 niches count (be my guest in case of doubt) the site is near Poza Rica in Veracruz state, near Papantla too (Place of the famous "Voladores de Papantla")  recommended.

Second picture in our way back home some fellow riders and me showing R65 PATCH in my jacket.

It looks like it needs a bit o' fixin' up!  ;)  Very impressive looking structure.  It's amazing what folks could do way back when before diesel powered heavy construction equipment was invented!

At the risk of sounding ignorant, exactly what is it and what was it's purpose?

and then may I say that ancients cultures of mesoamerica (Mexico was part of it)  knowing how the earth travel around the sun, how much time it takes, (365 niches are days of a year) and they show this knowledge in its buildings, let's say "El observatorio" at Chichen-itza, where the building itself was constructed according to sun "movement", or "el castillo" at chichen-itza where you can see a snake down way every and only at spring equinox.. thanks to the sun, and all this... at time when Europe was not convinced that the earth was round.........

mayan numerical system???  that's another story....

There is a theory of a greater cosmological clock called "The Great Year", which accounts for the rise and fall of civilizations.

Yay!  Sounds like fun.  Wouldn't it be great to get a bunch of R65 riders to ride down to visit Lucio next winter?  And then we could head on up to Canada.  I think we'd get there just about the right time for the Canada summer.   ;D
