.... well not exactly. I was an infrequent participant on the earlier board.
Anyway, I purchased a 1987 R65 last March with 64,000 miles on it. I'm owner #4. The attached photo is courtesy of owner #3, who has this pic on his web site. I have since removed the Corbin seat and replaced it with the original.
The bike came with service records going back to the original purchase. I "googled" the phone number of the original owner and came up with a current email address, to which I sent a short note and a photo of the bike. Got a real nice reply back, informing me that the bike's name is Louise, and that she was purchased at the dealer in St Louis on the way home from the annual BMWMOA rally, which was in Michigan that year.
From April through Thanksgiving, I used the bike for my daily commute. Even though the weather here in Connecticut has been unusually warm this winter, I have so far resisted the urge to awaken Louise from her winter slumber.
