« on: December 20, 2006, 08:33:07 PM »
hey everyone! i bought my first bmw a couple weeks ago. saved it from the hands of the local scrape yard man. needs some minor things and it will be back in running condition by spring.

the first bmw i rode was a friends r65 and i knew i wanted one after that. so after a couple years watching and waiting i have one of my own. i have some plans for it so i will share some pictures of my winter project as i go.

Yeah, Jon, welcome to our little world!  You'll find a wealth of information and experience here from some of us, like Rob above, who have had their R65 for many years.  (Rob above bought his 1979 R65 NEW in 1979, I believe!)

Post a pic when you can, and we look forward to eharing about your "love affair" with your R65! ;)

Welcome Jon.....many of us on this forum rely heavily on the expertise of our members. They have saved me many a time!

The forum is a wonderful way to meet new friends with a like interest and soon you will be feeling lost if you don't get your daily "fix" on the forum.

Patches are still available and look really nice....there's a sticky about getting one from Melena...check it out!

Have fun!!
