Where's everybody at?

With the Corona virus having the World confined to our houses the forum should be over run with bored bikers. But it's not..........

I  was bored enough that I washed both bikes day before yesterday. The Governor  and my wife will kick my butt if I go anywhere. Got to figure out a way to sneak off to get some Baking Soda for the blaster and kill some time cleaning parts.

Your high school English teacher would probably have replied to your question with "hiding behind the preposition" ("at").  But seriously, you must have a neighbor who's got some surplus baking soda you can "borrow".

We are under a shelter in place order here in Nashville, and now the police are beginning to enforce the rule, so when I told my wife that I needed some bath talc and some more Ibuprofen and was about to run over to Target, she said "sit down; I'm ordering it on line."

By the way, GOOD JOB!.....the bikes are absolutely gorgeous!

Not in the quantity that I need, Most folks don't have a 25lb sack of Arm & Hammer lay'n round the kitchen.

I commute with my bike right through the winter and was concerned about the 12 month old oil sitting in it. I always change it in the spring to get rid of the oil compromised through the short winter trips so I confess I used it to ride a few miles to a local place where we walk regularly and then did the oil change when we got home. It was all back roads and we saw only one car on the trip. 

There is no law here against riding or driving to a place of exercise but it is being discouraged so I won't be doing it again.  The bike can sleep this out now full of nice clean oil.

The other thing I did of course is to empty the float bowls which would otherwise have started evaporating away even if left for only a few weeks.

 Here in the States our lock down is not concerned with the mode of transportation just the reason for it. (tiggum)

As long as your trip is medical oriented or for groceries it doesn't much matter how you get there.

It's a bit unfair about bike riding as your not with anybody else. I managed a couple of rides before they hit us with the stage 4 restrictions. Now i am thinking of firing up my forge and flattening some iron to relieve the boredom.

I'm in a "low AG" area if you don't count MJ growing. My only outlet and closest was Harbor Frieght.

I was able to swing by harbor Freight as it was on my way to the Grocery store (wink wink)

I suspect now that our bikes are approaching an average age of 40, they're fading from usage.

That said, I just got the right hand head done and rings replaced, and I've put almost two tanks of gas through it since.

Your right Matt. AND...………….. the owners are getting a little long in the tooth also. At least me for sure at 75. I've said this before, all my friends or riding partners are getting older and have hung up the leathers or just gone off and died.

I'm still ready to go, you give me 30 minutes and I'll gather my stuff and we'll head out, but I don't find it much fun to go alone, so I just don't get out as much as before.

You can live long enough to run out of friends in your peer group.

I'm just on the youthful side of 40 myself, my R65 is only 5 years younger than me. I usually ride alone, though.  Other people just aren't consistent enough.

I ride alone most times as organizing with others is not easy. I don't like riding in a close group anymore as my reaction aren't as good as they were and one of my mates hit the back wheel of his friend on a left turn and broke a few bones. just to clarify our left turn would be like you doing a right turn in the states.

Unusually quiet here for this time of year .
I ride every day, the oilhead 4 days a week to work then the older bikes on weekends and major holidays due to having collector insurance on the older bikes .
I'm closing in on 64, been riding since 1972 .
