I'm going to take the R65ls on the Welsh National this year as a good post rebuild and running in, shake down (assuming I get an entry) any one ever done it? If so any advice on route planning, places to stay and good roads?

If anyone on here is also entering fancy meeting up for a beer in the evening?

How long of a ride does it work out to be?

Surely, at least one of our growing ranks in the UK must have done it before?

I would think about 150 miles from Cumbria,  I am not sure which one this is, I know of one in Llangollen if that's the same one I pass through there on my annual holiday to the Snowdonia national park.

From what I can make out it's on the 5th May and the start and finish is near Welshpool. It's a navigational rally so getting there is only the beginning.

The information is on the Clive MCC website, if anyone is curious.

A few mates of mine have done it and said its a hoot, 0830 the gate opens and you have to be finished before midnight. Other than the Snowdonia mountains I don't really know Wales so navigation will be interesting.
