How many left?

There is a UK government site that gives out info on the number of any given vehicle type still officially accounted for - I put the R65LS in first and as of the end of last year there are only 32 taxed on the road, and a further 26 registered but not on the road   I'm amazed that there are so few left over here - since I've bought mine I've found 2 friends that have one (both in bits in their garages lol) and there seems to be a fair few on ebay all the time.

I was wondering if there is a similar US website? It'd be interesting to see how many are left worldwide considering that there were only around 6500 made in the first place.

The data is supposed to come from the Dept. of Transport so you would think the record of registered vehicles is accurate but I wonder.

According to that site there are only 14 R45's on the road and 9 further registered.

If you search for R65's there are none only the 32 LS's. As we have several UK members with R65's that can't be right. Maybe it's 32 R65's and LS's combined. Still seems too low a number though.

Just checked to see how many valuable R90S's there are - none.  Ordinary R90's - none.  The data has to be flawed.

The car data seems a lot better. There are lots of 1960's cars on there.

I believe that there were around 1700 LS bikes made for the North American market .

Other than the two I have, the only other ones I've ever seen, were believe it or not, a neighbor on the street south of me has a silver '82 LS, and one of our members here, Mridden, who resides about 7 miles from me .

R65's are quite a rarity in the US .

Sounds like any government's tax-supported, make work, look busy, counting the days to pension "job".

I don't believe we, here in the USA, have any specific and accessible database of counting how many particular model motorcycle, car, truck or skateboards are on the road. Not yet, anyway. But give Mr. Obama time; he's "creating" jobs.

It would be interesting to know.. but I bet it'd be easier and more accurate to just count active forum members... by now, anyone owning a specialty / old / interesting vehicle has joined the relevant forum.

Now, my CB400F.. My parents owned a lawn service, and happened to see it in an old lady's garage.  It turned out to be her son's, 3400 orignal miles.  Sold it to us for 50$! It was last registered in New Jersey, in the mid 80s.  My dad and I flushed the brakes, got a new battery and horn, new tires, and then I put 17000 miles on it, from the early oughts to October 2007.

I joined a Moto Guzzi site about 6 months ago .

I inquired did anyone know how many V65 Lario's were brought into the US .

Two members there are Guzzi dealers, both of them have over 30 years with Guzzi .

No one seems to know the exact number, but both dealers said that at best 120 were sold in the US .

Doubtful I'll ever see another one on the street .

Up until I met one of the members here who resides about 6 miles from me, I have only seen one other R65 on the road, that was in October, 1987 in Sandy Eggo .
