choke pulls

Another thread pointed me to the http://boxermetal.com/#ecwid:category=3027386&mode=product&product=13179793 site and I found these.  Pretty "sano" and you get to do away with two cables and that pesky reach under your leg a 1/2 block from home thing.   $49 for a set of 2

I bought a chokeless perch to do away with mine. Was going to get an airbox mounted lever until I saw these.

there are some of those on eBay $50 a pair.   i think i can furnish my own somehow for only $10.

I am using a pair of cut down push-bike spokes, and the nut that goes inside the rim.  Seems to work quite well and it was free - I had a couple of spare spokes!

You might be able to see them in this picky....$50...pah!

Steve, if you keep posting pictures of that bike I'm going to keep coveting it.   Just saying.

Sorry Ed, especially in this case, you cannot really see what I was going on about except for the very top of the spoke and nut poking above the top of the carburetter and no cable.

One of these days I am going to revisit this bike and re-incarnate her.  Its been 10 years.  Almost time for a refresh and a colour change.

I got around to installing one of the choke pulls since I had the carb off fixing the leak.

I have a problem, not earth shattering, but one that shouldn't have been there for $50......  The cable is arc'd to cause friction so the pull will stay up when its up and down when it's down,,, good idea.

The set screw that hold the plastic knob on the cable is so small on the plastic knob that it slips off when you pull the choke up. ( bad idea)  When I tightened it I just rounded out the allen screw never getting it tight enough to keep it from coming off.  The set screw is just too small to do the job or should have been made out of stronger material so you could lean on it a might before it rounded out the allen.

I don't mind paying for a great idea without getting much hardware in return, but I don't want to have to fix it when it gets here.

You might consider that before you send off your 50 clams

Have any pictures of what you have there, I have a handlebar mounted choke, so I'm not real familiar with the '78-'80 year choke  assembly .
