Hell yeah! Get that sucker! It's not just any old Honda - it's got sentimental value!!!

Better not pass that one up!

Is it the Scrambler or SuperHawk? Can't imagine anyone making a chopper out of a 305 Dream. :)

My first bikes were Hondas, but never had a Superhawk - I think one of those would be pretty cool. But of course, I would un-chop it and put it back to stock. They're just too cool stock.

Kind of interesting about the beemer - I knew a guy (it's not 'know' because he was a big jerk and royally pissed me off) in town here who had a blue one like yours with the Rabid Transit. Don't know if he's still got it or sold it - haven't been in touch with him for at least five years, though I do see him now and then at tech days.
I called him tonight - guess I'll drive over in the morning - He a few years older than me - I thnk he's about 72 or 73 now - Not many guys hang on to stuff that long - It wasn't a deam - I'm thinking super hawk - were going back almost 50 years! He said tonight it has always been under a roof & covered up? I won't take it for free - if he won't take money I'll take one of my hand made knives along - I'm guessing the old girl is worth 500 unrestored? He said it was running good when he parked it but doesn't recall how many years ago that was  :) I move the other stuff around in the shop & found enough room for the lift - It's going to be difficult but some time this summer I want to get back to 3 bikes! I like elbo room -

Now Spoke you know i'm just an old farm boy - you need to explain this stuff to me - The neck say's made in West germany & the ser.# plus it has this sticker - The ser# doesn't have any letters

I thought they went to that style of VIN in 81. As far as I know, the R100T model was made in 79 and 80. After that, they just called the plain naked bikes R80 or R100. No slashes or anything else.

Anyway, it's plain yours isn't an S, RS or RT (rather, wasn't), and started life as a naked R100. Nothing to be ashamed of, it was essentially the same bike as the S etc, just no bodywork. I've got a 1980T and like the fact it came with a drum rear brake. It's a great bike, and I converted it to an RS. Travelled all over the west and into Canada on that one.

If your bike is a 74 to 84 with a seat cowl like that, it's the one!

I wonder why they said it wouldn't fit???

The only difference between the one pictured and yours is paint color.

You actually coming to Portland, or just trying to scare me?  ;)

(don't know if I can afford a pepsi - all I drink anymore is water, and fruit juice)  ;D

I was talking to a gal who I don't think she really knew what she was talking about & she wouldn't connect me with someone in the shop - But there might have been anyone there who speaks English when I called - I was thinking of just taking my seat down there & show them what I had but it's been a little cool the past few days so since I had your personal guarantee!

I ride up to Seattle at least once every year - I have a daughter up there plus this year I want to go to the new  LaMay Museum in Tacoma - Largest car museum in the world & from what I understand they did things right - 1st class all the way - It's not only the museum I think it's a complete motor sports complex - perfect for the bucket list! So yep - I get to Portland every year - Your traffic just keeps getting worse every year

Tom,  that is a sharp-looking seat.  Since I could not get my wife to ride with me, I've been keeping my eyes open for a solo seat.  But the prices are somewhat prohibitive.  The Gunfighter is a much better alternative.  Corbin's website says that this seat is for R models CS, RS and RT.  Wondering if the exclusion of the S and T models is intentional.  I'll give them a call tomorrow.  If I get the same answer that you got, I'll bide my time see how it fits your bike.  I believe our bikes share the same cowl - but then I'm no expert.
Thanks for the find!!

I think Corbin is more Harley oriented and beemers are a side-line. Or perhaps you're right, no one there speaks english except the receptionist/phone answerer.

The CS uses the same seat as the S. CS stands for Classis S, and was pretty much a 90S except for snowflake wheels (in the US, wires in other parts of the world), and Bings instead of Dellortos.

The T, however had the non cowled seat and was probably the last to use it. The non-cowled seat, though fits on the bike, is totally different. It's like the /5,6,7 seat.

I haven't been to the LaMay museum either, but have heard of it. One of these days I'll get up that way.

I called Capital Cycle and they confirmed that the 74-84 R100 S, RT and T share the same cowl.  If it doesn't fit yours, I"ll buy it from you,  That should save Spokes a Pepsi  :)
