Good going, Ken.
Here's a little tip to assist you when it comes time to time the R65...
Remove the timing hole cover and the spark plugs. Bike on center stand and in the gear of your choice.
Rotate the engine using the rear wheel while shining a light onto the slowly rotating flywheel. There will be three, IIRC, timing marks. Sometimes a letter or just a dimple. Anyway...
Dab a little bit of white paint on the timing marks. Get the paint down into the timing marks. Continue rotating the flywheel until you have "dabbed" all of 'em.
As the first mark reappears, wrap a thin, not fuzzy, shop towel around your finger and use just a touch of solvent to wipe away the excess paint, leaving neat, white timing marks that will show up brilliantly when hit with the strobe.
