My Kawasaki developed a water leak and the oil turned to milk so I was stuck for transport. Problem is that I don't know where on my 700km trip the problem developed .... hope bearings etc are okay.

Problen was that I was in the begining stages of turning 'Mutti' into a cafe racer. So I put footpegs, seat, tank, headlight, rear mudguard back on and thumbed the starter and she fired up.

Poor girl has been parked since mid-November but she was ready and waiting for me .... I do love her!!

Message here ... real bikes don't have radiators!!

My R65 has a 'radiator', an oil cooler .

Technically, they are not 'radiators' they are heat exchangers .

I'll 2nd that. Never have & hopefully never will buy a bike with a radiator.

The R65 really is a dendable old girl.... but not having ridden her for a while made me realise how bad the brakes are compared to modern machinery.

You don't need a radiator to have water cooling.  Just move to western Oregon.

Steve - Add the second front brake disk and you will be very surprised at how well an R65 can stop!

Just my 2 cents.

I'd love to add a second disc, but it is a very, very, very costly excersise down here. Brake iscs are like plutoniun .....

If you've got an older rubber brake hose, just switching to a new stainless braided hose will also improve the braking a notch or so above the stock configuration.

I notice the brake difference after putting 20k on my Versys. with it I could do wheel stands with my pinky. but I'm an old flattracker comfortable with out a front brake.
