Neighbor Has A Silver R65LS

Was driving through the neighborhood this afternoon, and on the next block south of me, I see a silver LS in the garage.

Put the car away, got the mail, and walked over to talk to the owner, he was putting the bike on a trailer.

He is the original owner, bike is an '82 with 3959 miles on it, been sitting in the garage for about 24 years without being started or ridden.

He started taking the bike apart, thought he had poor compression, he had a bad compression gauge.

Wished I'd known about this bike earlier, could have saved him some unnecessary work !!!

You just never know what's lurking in garages in your neighborhood .

Told him about R65.org, maybe he'll be a new member here shortly.

What's he doing with it now; moving it on a trailer?

Does he want to sell it to you?  Did you offer to buy it?

Did you marvel at an original R65LS with 3600 miles on it?

Tell us the whole story...embelish buddy.

I am going to assume that he was taking it to someone to work on it, didn't ask, he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry.

I asked if he was getting rid of it, and he said no.

He also has an R1200GS .

That's all of the information that I have.

I'm working this weekend Rich ( Sat & Sun 06:00-14:30 and the unknown overtime on Sunday, it's triple time, can't pass that up !!!!!), I did get the hall effect sensors yesterday .

Send me a PM with your telephone number, and I'll give you a call on Sunday, and we'll set up a time on Monday and I'll get it over to  you , if you're not busy with holiday festivities .

Rich,

Bernie's doesn't work on BMW's anymore.

Their BMW mechanic is going to try it on his own, he's opening a shop in the next 2-3 weeks, his name is Dave Altquist.

Motoman doesn't have the bike, so I really don't know where the bike was taken, hopefully Motoghost doesn't have it, I've heard a lot of bad stories about bikes that Omar has worked on, Victory BMW won't touch a bike that he has worked on .

I saw my neighbor on his silver LS as I was getting home from work half hour ago .

He got it back from the shop this morning, he's going for the mandatory exhaust emissions test, as part of the registration renewal process .

Bike sure looks good, good to see it back out on the road .
