Well, I cleaned & greased all the ground, coil & relay connections & it seems to start & run better - have to wait for the rain to quit & i'll take a test ride. If you still have those coils, let me know, Semper Gumby!
Thanks, bill conquest

I still have my original coils, if anyone really needs them.

Considering their age (1978?), and the cost of postage these days, I am not sure they are worth it.

But they were working when I took them off the bike.

My R65's (cracked) coil has been replaced more than three years ago - with a second hand coil from a Honda CD 200  - by the retired Bmw mechanic who used to do most repairs on my bike.

The Honda coil has cost me almost nothing - works perfectly, and it has not let me down (yet).

Nice to see that my photos can be of use, Rob. Hold on to it, because my bike looks a lot different today after I have installed a new combined diodeboard and regulator, new high yielding coils and a digital ignition controller.

Greetings from a grey and not so cold north

That's what my wife says about me - I still have all the parts that have been replaced, so if you are in need of a (defect) crankshaft seal I have a couple lying about.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

greetings from sunny (as long as it lasts) north
