Rob , do you get any heat off of the cylinder cooling airflow, or are the deflectors too high up ? What exactly is a very chilly temperature, I seem to remember temps below 80 F., but not in the last 6 months.

I still get everything coming underneath, I don't really know, I haven't spent much time really looking at it.

Last night it was around 52F (11C) when I left work.  The tops of my legs were very cold when I got home!

That got a chuckle out of me!

Well, it is time to go ride home for the first time.  I went out at lunchtime (8PM) and I could notice a difference.  The nice thing is, there is no noise,  neither engine nor vibration.

I don't think I can put that small windshield back on, though.  
I have my handlebar covers, and I am going to get some better clothing protection for the neck area.

I am hoping to make the Boxerworks Rally on October 18-23 (those are my days off work).  I am giving myself 2 days both direction.

I am also buying a Butt Buffer.  I hope this is a good product.  I need it.  My "new" foam (2 seasons old) is collapsing after only 15 minutes!!!

My new gel insert & leather cover are pretty comfy. Only rode ten miles home from shop. But noticed big difference already.
I have only seen leg covers on copcycles before. Is there a source for them?
I think for winter they are just the ticket.

I just picked up a Saddleman gel seat pad myself, I'm planning on trying it out this weekend.

Something's gotta be better that that thinly veiled 2" oak slab I've been sitting on...

I will be able to report on the seat cover soon.  I will use it for my commute, as well!

The leg covers are a product originally made by Heinrich, the tank maker.
A company in Germany has taken over production, they are Theofried Jeckel.  But their website is German only, and they never replied to any of my emails.

I got mine off of a German eBay seller.  He was not selling worldwide, but I have a friend that has PayPal and a bank account in Germany, so he was able to transfer the funds for us.

I had to do some grinding of the fiberglass to make the contours fit the tank.  

Oh, and the clamps are designed for the oval-section downtubes that nearly all airheads had at the time (the first exception being the R45/65!).  So the clamps are not perfect.  In fact, that is what delayed the mounting for so long.  But in desperation (it got cold!) I tried again and was able to make them fit.
