Congrats and kudus to you, Joan!  Way to go!!!    [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Maybe you will inspire me to go ahead this year and get the official BMW Roundel tat on my left forearm!  My 21 year-old son has already gotten three tattoos on his arms!

(Now you're sure this didn't hurt, huh?)  :-/

Oh I'm sure! Pain is relative, though. It was about half as prickly as a paper cut, about a third as irritating as a hiking boot blister. Plus it was very temporary. After three or four hours the bandage comes off, I washed it per the instructions with a mild antibacterial soap, then spread a little A&D ointment on it several times a day, keeping it moist until it heals up. Keep it clean. No hot tubs or swimming for a month. Pretty simple!

It took about ten minutes from start to finish, the artist was super fast AND his straight lines are perfect! In fact, it took longer for him to prepare the work surfaces and tools with plastic sheets than it did for the actual inking.

In fact, if ANY of you find yourselves in Seattle and feeling your own R65 Love storm coming on, I will pay the nice man for your tat.  ;D

Yeah, the ex got a little butterfly thing a couple of years after the divorce.

Maybe it's time I show her what a REAL tattoo is!

(specially since it is only a "2" on the draggin' a broken pelvis up a flight of stairs chart (???))

I can sense Rob is getting braver!! Hmmm...I got to hand it to you Joan, you followed through with the tattoo and one can't argue about your choice of design....at least it all went much more smoothly than when WE designed the R65 forum patch!!!  Can you imagine a tattoo shop going through what we did to get that patch off and running? They probably would forbid anyone other than the tattoo receiver to be present.

Any one know the dates of Ken's bash in OK????
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

R65 Love Tat update:

Looking REALLY good now! The exfoliating is about done and the blue has lightened up a shade or two... VERY pretty, Infamous Blueberry blue! Yum!

Thank you everyone for your encouragement during this process!  [smiley=clap.gif]

I would think that the reverse is true.  It is YOU who have encouraged us!  Well, some of us, anyway.
Then there is Lowen...

BTW Sue, Matt is in Daytona this week, so don't expect anything for a while.  He'll need to get reorganized once he gets back...

If a person were to come out to Seattle to get one of these tattoos...

one would just have to go to Maltby, NE of town for all or part of one of these...

(that's a full size dinner plate!)

Oh, Rob!  I'd probably eat that whole thing by myself.   :o   And then go into a diabetic coma or something.  Yikes!    :-/   It does look good!

Not for me, the idea of having a needles jabbed into my skin for fun gives me the creaps... (yes I'm a coward). Wouldn't mind one of the patches though :)

Well done Joan,

I remember that beaten head when I popped across to Seatle a couple of years back.  Has it been that long?

Glad to here the R65 is going well.

Tattoo's....hmmm, been sat in a tattoo parlour a couple of times over the years, but never managed to get myself under the needle.....

The last time I was in I was so embarassed as I was the only person who was a) male and b)over 19.

Loads of young girls having the same celtic rubbish put on - all with prams and babies.

I only wanted a Gecko on the side of my calf, probaly would have only taken 5 mins.  Thought better of it, and bought some stainless bits for the Cafe Racer.
