Moin, moin,
as we say in North Germany

Thank you very much for the flowers.

I really do know, that this is a forum for BMW R 45/65. So I promise, that this is my last posting about russian bikes.

As I said, the old BMWs are rare and expensive, especially the motorcycles with sidcar. The same type of motorcycle, built in Russia, is very cheap.
There is some kind of russian scrapyard in Germany, close to Berlin and near the Polish border. I´ve found this place in summer, while I was on the road for a business travel. It was so attractive for me, that I always get back there (with tears in my eyes), when I´m in Berlin. You can get 1 bike with sidecar for 600,-$ oder 3 bikes for 1500,-$.
Here are some photos from the scrapyard. Can you imagine how it smells there, when it´s very hot outside? For me it´s great!

This motorcycle is also sold in the United States. I found this one on ebay.com

In Germany there are some dealers, that restore those Seitenventiler and sell them for about 5.000,-$. They look great, like new ones. 8-)

They look like BMW´s, but they aren´t.
@Aida (I´m sorry, I don´t get the second point onto the i): They come close to your loved /2, don´t they?)
If you want to hear, how the Seitenventiler sounds, check this. But before, take the children out. 8-)
