OK people, I just got off the phone with sloth again (twice in one night!) and he says NO PROBLEM using r65.org domain name!  And it won't cost us anything, besides!

Lookin' win-win here!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'm glad he's cool with it, and it very well may be a burden lifted from his shoulders not to have to baby-sit a forum.  Rob, is he going to make the DNS changes to point the URL to suraklyn.com/yabb ?  I don't have the authority or site/login to do it...  I hope he comes on over, registers, and chimes in from time-to-time.  I really was starting to think something nasty had happened to him...

Oh, and see if he'll e-mail us the old board logo image file and I'll figure out a way to "graft" it somewhere here so we can maintain a "link" to the past...

Rob, you have been one busy guy!  Thanks!  I hope that didn't run your phone bill up too much.

I guess sloth hadn't been back to see how the forum that he set up had been doing.  I wonder if we can get the old threads from the original forum from him and put them in some kind of archive?  I'm getting a bit ahead of things here.  It was just a thought that ran through my brain.

I expect we will be hearing from him soon.  This year has been a very non-motorcycling one for him.  Yeah, I am sure he is aware that it is he that needs to make the change.  He has our address.

It looks like his bike was top heavy.  Hard to strap much stuff under the motor though.

I'm on on the .org domain, or what ever.

So far, everything we have done has been free.     ;DThe kid has a couple hunderd meg and a ton of bandwidth laying around he doesn't use.  ;)  I may feel guilty and kick him a few bucks toward his yearly fee -let me stress MAY - but so far he hasn't mentioned it and refers to the yearly hosting fees as "chump-change".  Kinda sux when your offspring make more than you do... :(

Well I have gotten a step closer to getting the old db backup. I had to build a linux box to install mysql and apache. I am going to setup the bulletin board software tomorrow and attempt to import the old db. Fingers crossed.

Cool, Sloth.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  You're a lot more motivated and "less lazy" than I am!   ;D
