Anyone here bidding? If so I'll swap my high bars for the euro bars on that bike.

That one does seem like it would make somebody a real good first project.  Not a whole lot wrong woth it and ride it while you are tweaking on it!  I may try to take a lap around the back yard with our "new" LS  this afternoon.  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]   Now, there's a project when you think it'll be an accomplishment if it makes it a lap around the yard! :P

It's a beautiful day here and I've spent all of it out in the shop working on somebody else's gas tank!   :o I gotta get my priorities straightened out...  :-? But, there will be a few of our "Bros" riding nice sparkely bikes next spring.  8-)

Has anyone here had any experiences with shipping a motorcycle? I've run across a few great deals, but transportation costs to Phoenix made the deal not worth the effort. I would think $400  would be a reasonable cost to ship a small motorcycle from the east coast to Phoenix, but I have been quoted prices in the $800-900 range.

I have shipped two by Forward Air, less than $450/ea.  Last one was a coulple years ago so not sure what current rates are.  One was from San Diego to Ft. Worth, TX, and the other came down from Milwaukee.  I sold a Yamaha Virago 920 a little over a year ago and the buyer used one of the moving companies for door-to-door at a little over $500.

I've also shipped 2 bikes, to NC, one from Chicago, the other from upstate NY. With fuel prices/surcharges, count on appx. $600 door-to-door, a little less if you can arrange pickup and/or delivery to a commercial address. like a local bike shop.
I was extremely happy with Tim Kelly at Curves Ahead Transport, curvesaheadtransport.com, and have also heard good things about Federal's movers, funtransport.com. Tim travels with his Ducati, was totally reliable and a helluva nice guy to boot.

Good luck!

In Feenix give Atlas Van Lines a jingle. If the seller can drop the bike off at one of their places in Fla. they'll strap it to a pallet and when they happen to have a truck headed this way they'll stow it along for the ride. When it arrives you pick it up at their warehouse. Prices vary but I've been able to do this between AZ & NY for less than $400.
