Bar replacement

Trying to put my 82 r65 back to mostly stock configuration after a previous owner had "improved" it.  PO changed the bars to a short low bar that won't allow the dash pad to fit properly.  Where would I find an aftermarket bar that is most like the OEM. Or, if someone has a nice original, I might be interested.

Also need the bulb assemblies for turn signals. When he threw away the original dash pad, he chucked the in-dash signal lamps as well.  What might be a good source for those?

Take some pictures of your bike so we will have a visual and will be better able to guide you. Next, go to WWW.realoem.com and look up your bike and find the part numbers of the stock pieces you are needing.  Pictures first, let us "see" what you need.

I put RT bars on mine and I had to drill a hole in the dash pad to prevent the clutch cable from kinking

They are taller than the original bars

Thanks for the pics Roadkill. Check to see if there is a part number on the short bars to give us an idea what they were for(maybe your bike?)

When I fitted my short bars I put on the dash pad and left the bars and controls lose and adjusted with the tilt of the bars and the tilt of the controls since the dash pad is immobile and everything else will move.

I'm sure there are folks on the East Coast but I use Stoners Beemer Stash here on the West Coast for odds and ends. I just got the original bars for my LS from him along with a couple of other onesy twosy items.

If I'm not mistaken, the bulb holders are still available new from BMW and surely from the Brits.
The bulbs are 3 to 5 W T bulbs as used on cars.
But the bulb holders have flat spades for AMP style spade on the wires... So you may have to "rewire" a bit...
The OEM wiring loom is still available new from BMW. Last time I looked it was around 160 € plus shipping.... So ....
For the bars, I would ask a place like Motorworks for a decent used one.

I'm afraid, the bulb holders are no longer available s I tried to source them a while back. They hold 12 volt 194/BP2 bulbs. They have bendable wire loops that make the contact with the bulb holders. Problem with mine were they were stretched and when I tried to tighten them, the broke (or at least 2 diametrically opposed contacts did). I solved the problem by bending one loop over to the other side so they made the appropriate contact. By the way, if you find a source for them, please let us know!

It seems INR 44626 is listed for 80 to 85 R65.  No longer available from BMW, but they may have some.  "Stock of this item varies, check for availability and condition".  These is a used item.

I have a Don Vesco Rapid Transit fairing on my 82R65. I put the sport bars on that came with the fairing I had the same amount of rise as your picture shows and hand no problem installing the dash. Looking at your picture the bar clamps need to be loosened and rotated back. I now have RS bars installed still with the stock dash installed
