I Put a Delco Remy Bridge rectifier in Mine

I decided it would be fun to build my own.
By the way his looks a lot like a Delco unit but I have yet to find one that looks exactly like his on the Net
So here is mine
I used the rect. from the most commonly used Alt in the USA
The Delco Remy 10SI.
The blue wire from the charge light conects on the back of the board.
All the studs are insulated where they pass thru the mounting plate except for the ones that need to be grounded.
All of the parts are available from every parts store in the USA

I have also mounted and currently using the voltage regulator from the 10 SI
I will post about that when I get all the details sorted out.
It has a voltage set point of 14.8.

Nice job.  There is no need to spend mega bucks on the after market stuff.

I think the odyssey battery may be happy with 14.8 volts especially if the negative temperature coefficient drops that a couple of tenths when hot.  Your bulbs may blacken and have a shorter life though. Not so much the headlight as there is usually enough voltage drop in the wiring to reduce the voltage a little. The tail lamp is the one most likely to suffer but they are not expensive and will still last a good while. I'm running only a little lower at 14.5 volts and have no problems with bulb life.

I was thinking the same thing Barry.

Odyssey said it should be OK to use it in this application as long as it wasn't  continuous duty .

Just and Update on this modification

After 11 months and about 20K miles my charging system is still going strong with no issues what so ever
 My Odyssey battery is also is working good

Good news. 

Did it still make 14.8 volts with everything warmed up.

I moved the sense wire to the out put terminal on the diode board now the system voltage stays at 14.6 and below depending on the temp

I have also switched to all LED   so I have plenty of power
The voltage recovers very quickly after starting
