Reverse Ignition failure
« on: November 25, 2016, 10:04:32 PM »
I went on the local toy run ride for the salvation army and when i got to the start and turned off the ignition nothing happened. The kill switch worked.
On the way back my mate said my indicators weren't working. At the stop things hadn't changed but when i took off home the indicators weren't working so i moved the ignition key and it went all the way and on come the indicator. when i arrived home the bike turned off with the key.
So i have some exploring to do. Any hints are welcome.

suspect you are about to join the "I've wired up a replacement ignition switch" club, cause you can't buy a new one sadly.

On my 86, if the headlight flasher switch sticks in on position, the key will not stop the engine. When returned to normal everything returns to normal. Not certain about indicators.

Thanks. I tried it and that is what happened. The indicators were because i didn't have the switch turned all the way.
