I though so, Bob, but I checked with a "new" BMW airhead clock at the local Guru shop. Same problem. Alas he did not had a spare pod to ascertain the difference.
Tony, the white numerals clock is "beyond repair" said to me the watchmaker I contacted. The shafts have worn out their bearings. The clock runs for a couple of minutes then seize. It is a Kienzle mechanism for which he can't get any parts ( too old, too cheap to be repaired, who knows) This is why I bought a "new" one.
