Re- Service bulletins for USA

https://www.bmwmc.net/bulletinsearch.asp?A=1&C=7&OB=date

We have discussed this site before on a previous thread. If you look at the URL for that site it starts with https meaning it's a secure site. I wonder if it is supposed to be publicly available and how long it will remain so.  I mentioned it on the airheads list once and got my ear seriously bent for proposing to publish the URL.

Anyway it's valuable info so I went through the whole list sometime back and compiled an index of bulletins that were in anyway related to R45/65's. They are organised in standard BMW subsections so there is no need for anyone to wade through it all unless you want to try and spot something that I missed. If you are looking for a particular bulletin on the web site you can sort them in number order just click on the header for that column. I also have downloads of all the bulletins just in case.

Sadly, the secure URL link no longer works - I was hoping to look up the service bulletin from August 1983 which covered the change-over to the split-valve design in the damper assembly for the front forks.

Do you have a PDF of it?

This is the August 83 bulletin which oddly says that all models except the R65 and LS were fitted with this modified valve body by the factory. Nevertheless it is what you found in your forks.

There is also an earlier European bulletin which appears to retain the original long valve body but introduces the thicker plastic valve washer.
