Saddlebag Identification
« on: November 02, 2015, 04:41:25 PM »
I have a pair of nice saddle bags that came with a 1980 r65, but not on the bike.  Dont know what bike they are for even if they are for this bike.  These are the numbers that I found inside:  46.54-1 237 990 and 46.54-1 237 992 on the left side bag.  991 and 992 are the last 3 numbers on the Right side bag.  Followed by the little circle with BMW inside.  Can anyone help to identify these?  May sell them.  there were matching helmets strapped inside.  Thanks - JON

Jon

Photos would be a big help - the difficulty being that back in the day panniers were made by Krauser, Craven and BMW itself, and at various times panneries were made by Krauser and Craven FOR BMW and thus received BMW part numbers, which being for an "accessory" were sometimes recycled for a completely different part if another manufacturer became "favoured".

A photo will confirm, but for 1980 vintage, if I were to make a wild guess I would say Krauser Starlets are the most likely

JB, Are you utilizing a free web-based photo storage site such as Photobucket? Makes it easy-peezy to post snaps.

The "test" section is a good place to, well, test to see if you pics are posting as desired.
