ITU "Bean Can" Overhaul photo essay
« on: October 17, 2016, 02:32:21 PM »
Hot off the Airlist of 17 October 2016 is Joe Stroup's outstanding photo essay DIY Bean Can overhaul. Excellent photography and commentary. With this "tool", anyone should be able to handle this task.

This looks like my first repair, hopefully it goes well.  The procedure looks a bit intimidating.  Thanks for sharing.

I found this very helpful recently. I bought a new hall sensor & with this it was so easy to strip & reassemble the whole can. Without this I would have just bought a whole new can so thus saved me quite a few bucks - Australian of course  8-)

I've got a few Honeywell sensors just in case I may need them .
How do you peen the rivet that is part of the sensor, to it's mounting plate without damaging the sensor ??

I made a anvil to support it  out of a piece of  cold rolled with a hole drill into the end of it
