ATE/BREMBO question

Hello everyone....
For some time now, one of my calipers make a sound like something was loosen inside when I turn left mostly...

Now, it seems the reason is a slight movement on my disc pads, which is supposed to be avoid by a mounting kit, which is obviously not there.

Now, on Max BMW, they sell a mounting kit but only for Brembo, while my two calipers are ATE.... Part number is  34 21 1 238 059. That's the only option I get, even when I enter my frame number....

My bike is a "German" model, 1979...
Do you think it'll work on my ATEs?

I think 78-80 models in all markets had the ATE calipers.  

As with any caliper there should be some form of anti-rattle spring under the the two pad retaining pins.  Are you missing that part ?

The Brembo anti rattle springs  (there are two separate ones ) definitely look different to the single ATE springs but that doesn't mean they wouldn't work provided the pin spacing is the same.  The ATE spring is #9 below Part No 09 34 11 1 238 065 and Max BMW lists them.

It´ll be a lot more easy if their list would say the appliance of the anti-rattle spring (Ate or Brembo), as it does on other items, such as he covers or the pads...

Finally, I will get rid of that sound!!!

I had already checked Motobins. They have the pins but no spring so I'm thinking I better take good care of mine.

The Brembo caliper parts will not work on the ATE caliper, the steel back plate on the pads are different between the two calipers .

We took out the covers on the bike today... luckly, there was a R65LS on the shop from a friend that has Brembo calipers.
The pads that are installed on my bike have the same shape as the Brembo pads. Actually the ATE pads are difficult to get locally, but the Brembo type is more common, so we tested the spring from the LS and they worked perfectly.

Now, the kit that MaxBmw sells has the pins and the spring, which are not sold separately, I guess I´ll keep the pins as spares...

If you have the pads for the Brembo calipers, that's the reason the original spring isn't there, it won't fit .

You can modify the pads for the Brembo calipers to work in the ATE calipers .

You need to remove metal from the pad backing plate, about 5 minutes of work per pad, with a die grinder and a rotary file .

I ran into the problem when I ordered EBC pads for my '81 R65, pads for the Brembo calipers showed up instead .
