Summer project! tips and suggestions appreciated!

OK now that i'm making a little bit-o-cash i can start making my dream bike. i started today with taking off the headlight/turn signal/ instrument panel bracket and it was a PAIN! the whole thing came off fine but then the brake line was holding it on the bike because it was looped through the bracket. so i had to take off the brake line at the caliper and pull it through. then i had to bleed the line because air got in it. so after that, I was just messin around with the ignition switch that i took off the bracket and found out that this green and black wire that can be plugged into the switch turns on the bike!!! no lights come on exept when something is actually pressed, but the bike starts and everything, without the key. i wonder if all airheads are like that? but anyway ill post up some pics soon. i'll order my headlights first but i have to email the company because there are 2 sizes 4in. and 5 3/4in. and the 4in looks ugly but i dont know if the 5 3/4in ones will fit because thats like 11 1/2in and i dont even think the forks are that wide. here's the link http://aztec8.com/catalog/c6_p1.html

So lets get this right, you are replacing 1 large head light (which is actually a very good unit) with two smaller headlights?

What is the 'look' you are going for?  Streetfighter?

I have also removed the 'garden gate' from the front of my bike, along with the instrument binnacle.  But I mounted the original headlight back on the machine with some new 'ears'  I am running an electronic speedo but no rev counter.  the idiot light are mounted on the top triple tree on the same bracket that holds the ignition.  It is certainly less cluttered up there.

Good luck - show us some pictures when you get the chance.

i got the single four inch one. not sure how they mount but if two of them mount like my single whicj is a bottom mount you might have to fab up a small mounting bracket that bolts on the bottom of your trees. its pretty easy or i might be able to help you if you cant do it yourself.

i thought about running dual 4 inch lamps, still might.

yea i think streetfighter is a good description of what i'm aiming at. just so everyone knows, i did reply to a post about trying to cap my tranmission after taking out the speedo cable, it was a black nylon cap that can be bought at any hardware store but i dont know if I should put anything under it to make it waterproof, as it is quite snug, i needed to use a razor to get it up...

The cap sounds like it is at least as waterproof as the boot for the cable...which isn't, really...
