Bmw R65 1981 - crash bars
« on: January 08, 2013, 01:37:58 PM »
I ended up buying a German Gläser fairing for my R65. It is really big and looks like something from outer space. The fairing bracket clamps on top of the crash bars. I have one problem. My crash bars are too low. They are approximately 23 cm but should be 1.5 cm higher. I wonder if R100 crash bars are higher? I believe they are wider. That's no problem since the fairing is quite wide. Any suggestions regarding higher bars?

This Space Cadet would like to see it, too.

Any way to modify your existing crash bars so they will accept the fairing mounts?

Here is a German site with Gläser fairings:

I think I have to buy a second hand R100 fairing on Ebay and try it on my R65.

Somebody needs to try and order a fairing from Pichler.. I liked mine a lot and now it needs to be replaced.  I'm just trying to remember where I put that paper with Grover Cleveland on it.

What model was it? I have a Pichler from the "almost" Grover Cleveland days.............

My R65 was an '86, so newer than that.. the EXS p-3 or whatever from their site.

But, the paper I'm talking about had cleveland's portrait on it... you know, the thousand dollar bill.
