HELP on cylinder (Jug) orientation!

HELP!

Mkay I just did a boner move and got the cylinders mized up and now I don't know which goes on what side of the engine case?

One cylinder has the numbers "82 ZN4W4" while the other has "82 ZN4W3" but this cylinder also has a "D..." while the other does not.

On aircraft odd ending is left side and even right side.  VW's same way from what I remember.  Sorry can't give you assurances.  I take it you've tried the regularly touted websites?

I just checked my R65's, the '81 left cylinder ends with an odd number, the right ends with an even number .

The'82 and '84 LS's, both cylinders on both bikes the number ends with an even number .

The important thing is to keep the pistons mated to the cylinders, otherwise it really doesn't matter which side - they're interchangeable. Identical.

Thanks all!  Just to quadruple check, when we say left side of the bike it's the left side as we are off the bike and facing it with the rear tire in front of us as apposed to cars where it's from the driver's perspective... am I right?

It's the same on bikes - from the rider's perspective sitting at the controls.
