up grading the neutral light

I sometimes have trouble seeing the neutral light up on the instrument panel....bright Texas sunshine. Is there a LED bulb out there that would replace the neutral light? Has anyone figured out a way to make it brighter? Any mods to make it better?

nhmaf installed some  LED's in the internal lighting for the instruments, don't know if they would improve the neutral light or not .

Other than that, there's not much out there besides the wedge type incandescent bulbs .

These guys are a WHOLE lot brighter, use less wattage, and don't heat up the instrument.

Use the ones that are sort of cube shaped - a little light circuit on each face. The ones with five will fit, not sure about the nines. I know the nines won't work in the /6 style gauges.

At the very least install one of the illumination bulbs to get rid of the condensation problems. I believe the hot incandescents are the source of condensation in our instruments that rusts them out.

Don't change your charge light with one of these unless you install a bypass resistor, otherwise the charging system won't operate properly.

IF we can find that thread, I think that the white ones that I used will JUST fit (barely) as the little plastic housing around the neutral bulb is close - somewhere around here I have some slightly different ones that I was going to try out for the neutral and hibeam indicators... will try to locate them to get the part number..

The superbrightleds place has quite a variety of choices - just don't use these LED units for the charge light OR the turn signal indicator on the R65 as both those functions rely on a larger amount of current flow and voltage drop to operate properly.
