Handlebars and seats

Hello guys i'm pretty new to this site, i've been looking at it forever and finally registered. Anyway i'm 16 and just started working on my dad's  81 R65 (he got a R1150RT n gave me this one). So far i've taken off the luggage rack and just today took off the luftmeister fairing which was a MAJOR pain because the bracket part was mounted behind the tank. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any handlebars and seats to give the bike a more sporty look. i just looked at the Corbin gunfighter but it's not made for a R65 (but if someone knows a way around that....). Anything would be appreciated, just trying to bring some youngblood to the Bimmer scene. Thanx

have you checked out steve hawkins cafe? its old school with some new school look in there. my cafe also is not the typical off the factory line look also. there is alot you can do. what would you like? rear sets? can do it, more stylist seat? yep, an smaller head light or twin head lamps? yep what ever you think can be done it is a matter of work, time and money. i dont have alot of money so i make up in time and work.

R90S bars are still available and will give you the European sporty look.  Be careful what you buy. BMW bars are 22mm. Most North American bars are 7/8" , which is a fraction bigger, causing problems getting the clutch/ throttle assemblies on. You can get lucky as sometimes the tolerances are a little slack but at least be aware.

I'll agree with Chris, be careful as to the diameter on any replacement bar. I would pass on the ones you showed to avoid problems with control mounting. The low narrow R65LS bars should still be available from the many on-line BMW parts dealers at around the same pricing.
