I use Bosch W7DC or W6DC. I tried Bosch Platinum, but they wore out in about 6,000 miles. You want to use a non-resistor type plug, the cap that goes over the plug has a resistance of about 5,000 ohms.

Widerstandstecker nie benutzen or never use resistor plugs! Use the resistor caps [5K ohm] and then the choice of plugs is up to you. [calling Bob Roller, stat]
I completely love a domestic plug, it's an Autolite 64. Which is the cross reference to an NGK BP5ES.
Heres a link to more than you can stand about plugs.

I usually use Bosch, and sometimes NGK.     Never use Champion anymore - not even in
the lawnmower.

NGK BPR7EIX.  Seem to work well with the NGK caps.  Also Running the Dyna coil and Omega Electronic Ignition.  I'm running the NGK Iridiums on both the R65 and the BSA A65T.  The A65 has standard points, caps and Lucas coils.  All in all trouble free.  We'will see how long they last and weither its worth the added cost.

what if you use a resistor plug without the resistor top on the plug?

the local guy said i could? he said the NGK resistor top is threaded on and can be removed and used in place of a standard plug?

i should say he is saying a BPR7ES is like a BP7ES just you removed to top?

I think your "local guy" needs to start sharing whatever it is he's smoking!  The little nipple on the top is for a different type of spark plug end to clip onto.

Bill is using a resistor plug in his, the "R" in "BPRXXXX" indicates a resistor plug, at least in NGK terminology.  Really, when you figure the total resistance of a .024" plug gap into the equation of your coil secondary a few K really doesn't matter - at least that's the way it has been explained to me and makes sense...

This page (Mike's XS.com) has a variety of NGK caps to compare.
