I'm just assuming, but I think, coming from Australia, supercharging doesn't mean the same thing there as it does here in the States.
FYI Bing - here in the U.S. a supercharger works by mechanical methods, usually with a belt & pulleys to drive the compressor (think
Mad Max)
While a turbocharger (again, in U.S.-speak) works by forcing exhaust gasses through a
turbine to get the compressor turning.
The later has what is referred to as "turbo-lag", because it takes a second or two for the compressor to start doing "the nasty". Â
