i ordered some new hand grips & also asked for some bar end weights to see if that will help to stop the sore hands etc but he said the R65 don't have bar end weights. Does anyone have bar end weights on & does it help?

I have the mirrors that bolt into the ends of the handlebars, so no room for weights.
Never had any different so cant compare on hand soreness.
I rode over 200km in a weekend and did not suffer, but then vibrations are not the only cause. Angle of handlebars, reach to levers, etc.

I cast some lead weights around 120mm long to make internal bar ends. They weighed several pounds but didn't make much difference so I took em out. I had better results from balancing the carbs and rubber mounting trhe mirrors.

I would think bar end weights have to be carefully designed for maximum effect. I have had sucess with bar ends installed by the manufacturer on a Suzuki single. At least there was a big change for the worse when I took them out.

mMy I suggest that if vibes are making you're hands uncomfortable, the solution will not be found with bar end weights. many years ago before this forum existed I suffered the same problem and tried weighting the bar ends with no discernible benefit.
The topic of dealing with those pesky vibes was covered on this forum just a few weeks ago. usually it requires carb cleaning/refurbishing and a nice engine tune up. Good luck  :).

Before I got my vacuum carb adjuster I used the vibes as a guide to adjust my carbs: If my left hand began to sleep after 20 minutes at 50 mph the carbs were out of sync. With properly adjusted carbs there should not be any discernible vibrations in the bars above 3000 rpm.
