wheel buckle

I need someone who can roll out buckles in my front wheel. Darwin has no one, and Adelaide is the most direct, so Aussie if you know anyone capable? otherwise anyone else around Australia. Somehow I think the freight is going to be the major cost factor in getting this done. If anyone knows of a cheap front wheel for sale that would do as well. I made the mistake of going a short distance up a dirt track. Only noticeable at slow speeds.

Spoked wheel or cast?  If it's cast (snowflake type) then it's a goner.  You can't really repair those.  Fortunately you can still find them around but not cheap.  If it's spoked, it may be possible to repair it but better to buy a new rim and have it re-laced.

Well hopefully my problem has just been solved.

hope it is all as good as it sounds, they advertise it as being true and straight.

Living in Darwin, and the wheel is in Victoria I just have to wait and see how long it takes for the Australia Post camels to traverse the deserts in Central Australia with my wheel.

Congratulations on finding one on the continent, and at such a reasonable price - and shipping!!!

Let's keep a good thought.

Since the wheel will be new and unknown, you might want to have the bearings removed and inspected before you put it into service.  You never know what kind of treatment the donor bike received.

And replace the dust seals on the outside.  Cheap insurance.

I'm still awaiting a possible call from the seller to state "Oh that's a bit dearer to Darwin than anywhere else in Oz isn't it?"

I bought a computer from Melbourne last month on ebay and the postage was $29.95, the seller asked me to add $9 to the postage. I expected it, was a bit annoyed but paid it anyway. It was still a bargain for me.

I've already check Munich motorcycles for seals and bearings, tubes, and rim tapes, also right angle valve adapters.

I might look silly........
