With Motobins, I order my needs on Saturdays and they are delivered via Royal Air Mail to my home in Texas no later than the following Friday. Every order has been 100% complete; never had a back ordered item. Very competitive pricing... my new steering head bearings are quality NPK-manufactured and were one-third the cost of the same bearing at my Texas vendor.

Can you guess? I like Motobins [smiley=beer.gif]   Monte

The cost of my order was $120US not including shipping, I ordered 2 sets of Brembo caliper rebuild kits, master cylinder rebuild kit, and a timing chain kit for the '84 LS .

The price of just the master cylinder piston, not even a kit, was $65 here in the US .

From the looks of it, I don't expect to place another order with them for a while, but when I do accumulate enough needed parts, I will check them out before going anywhere else .

I generally use Motobins or Motorworks service kits once a year for both bikes.  You have the option of specifying OEM or pattern filters.  But the pattern filters have to be up to spec.

There are other BMW parts suppliers for Airheads as well, like Sherlocks and others.  What is really great is that because we have a good choice of local suppliers, no one supplier can take over and then start hiking the prices.

That situation locally affects the prices globally, even though Motorworks do not send stuff to the USA for whatever reason.

I live 25 miles from MotoBins so getting spares is a good excuse for a ride rather than use the postman. The alternative filters I get from them are usually Mahle OX35 straights and I use the same type in the RS,R65 and the R60/6. I've been using them in the /6 for 17yrs. and never had a problem. I took the oil cooler off the RS on Mike Fishwick's advice and not had any problems there.I changed the R65 oil tonight and the old one came out clean as a whistle, never had one collapse yet.(cross fingers).I'm even luckier in that Steve Scriminger is only 15mls. away and a really good chap to deal with if anyone needs mechanical work doing. He is what we call "old school" in the best possible sense. My concern would be, that in my case, you're dealing with a business, a quarter of a world away, and no real recourse, if it were to cause  an engine failure .

I placed my order with Motobins at 07:00 this morning local (15:00 in Lincolnshire), see how long it takes to get to me, about 5,300 miles  (8500km) away .

I recieved my order from Motobins today at 14:00, placed the order last Tuesday, better service than I have gotten from US parts suppliers !!!
