Electric Mud Guard Location

Can someone help me locate the correct positioning and installation of the "mudguard" as shown in the attached link

Reference #19 on Real OEM.

Looks like it attaches to the frame rail and is secured through the two holes with a tie strap. I'm assuming somewhere around the coil?

It's right behind the horn. It does a pretty good job of keeping road debris off the engine and out of the fuel tank tunnel where the ignition and electrics reside.   Monte

I think you can see this item just in front of the coil.  I always thought it's purpose was to keep crud/water/etc. off the coil...

Rob, I suppose it would keep crud and spray from getting the front coil dirty!  But, I also wonder about it blocking airflow to the coil.

Good point.  It would make my bike heavier, too.  ;)

No problem, mon... just drill a buncha lightening holes in the thing :D ::)
