Here again is a good fix which is very, very, strong. Mine has stood the test of time, 18 months, 7,500 miles and on and off countless times during fairing fitting, until 3 months ago. It now lives in the shed because I have completely changed the dash setup for a more harmonious fit with my RS fairing.
A 1.5 mm mild steel strip, cut and shaped appropriately.
Heat up the metal strip and burn a slot into the rubber to accomodate it. When all is cooled down, install the steel strip with epoxy and hold the rubber pad together using elastic bands etc. Depending on previous damage to the pad an almost invisible super strong mend can easily be achieved.
Shame about the gunge already on the face of your dash pad. Good luck with your repair.
