Good to be back on! Old 'puter died, new windows vista is confounding but on to the nut of my question. Just sent off a few over due orders for parts and I came to the exhaust nut wrench. A&S has the factory one for an astronomical price. If the reviews are bad on the cheepie I'll opt for the ED Korn model.http://cycleworks.net/Index.html

My wrench is about 30 years old and is similar to the one you picture except it doesn't have any gaps in the teeth.  It has worked well even with the occasional application of a somewhat large hammer...  [smiley=evil.gif]  But, I have never heard anything but good comments on any of Ed Korn's tools and his wouldn't take up as much room and would be easy to pacl along on trips.

I use the one from Bob's BMW that looks a lot like that. It stood up to some Very enthusiastic use of a hammer, and kept one of the nuts intact. The other was a candidate for replacement before I started anyway. . .

Hey Rich , I have an exhaust nut wrench, and you are welcome to use it any time, if you don't want to purchase one. Just send me a PM and I'll get it over to you. I need to use it in the next 3 days, as the R65 is down for heavy maintenance ( transmission overhaul, and possibly clutch / pressure plate overhaul as well) for the next 1-2 months. Rich, I just removed my exhaust system this afternoon, so if you want to borrow the wrench, it's yours , I'll need it back in about 1-2 months.

I actually broke down and bought the cheapy CC products aluminum one. Left side came off with a slight twist then by hand. The right side loosened up without percussive assistance, good thing as this low end model is made of aluminum and won't take a hammering. The right side does bind after 1/2 turn. Time for the hacksaw.

Rich, you got that right or you'll have a good deal of time ahead of you with a three-corner jewelers file...    And, BTW, I used a sawzall with a metal blade on the last pair I hacked off, really made short work of it!
