"Also wondering what I can do about the handle bar dash. Mine is not in the best of conditions and I also wouldn't mind getting something that looks a bit more cafe racer if such a thing will fit the bike."

Can't get much more "cafe" than this. Tach, speedo, odo, shift points, temps, avg speed, and tons more data. The digital Vapor instrument cluster is da bomb.

Melena I had to adjust my Napoleons as well. One of the mirrors has a very tired nut on the inside that use to have a very ridged surface which grips the interior rubber expanding plug to tighten the mirror. When that nut gets old and worn the mirror can't be tightened very well. Go to a shop like a machine shop and get a couple new ones. Maybe a good hardware store. My machine shop guys had some and rethreaded it to fit the mirror thread size for me. I bought two!!! You will know when things aren't gripping when the mirror won't tighten down and when you remove things to take a look, the nut falls off inside...don't panic..just get the magnet-on-a-stick out!!!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

Put me in the minority, I guess, but I don't care for bar end mirrors. My '83 came with a pair and they were the first items removed and tossed. New grips followed to replace those butchered for the bar end install.

I like my scoots to have the narrow look so the bar ends didn't do it for me, visually. No pun intended.  I have aftermarket black, rectangular mirrors with short stalks. I attached 1.50-inch diameter wide-angle stickies to both mirrors and can see all around.

Being a bit paranoid, I still turn my head and use the Mk-1 eyeball to confirm my six is clear.

The mirrors on my R65 are the same as Monte's, sans stickies.  They are a Rocky Tucker mirror, about 11 dollars each.  I do like bar ends but they wouldn't work with the Windjammer.

I fitted new mirrors when i put the high bars on the left one is fine but the right one keeps moveing as the thread is too short to engage the nyloc they are oem mirrors ? made by boom i think the mounting is much thicker on the right side.
