Himalayan 411. Cheap! Several good examples for sale. Seat and pegs a problem. Someone a foot shorter than me would probably still find it cramped. Possibly even more basic than the Hero, but construction is a lot heavier. Quite gawky in design, 1950s meets 1980s.
Voge 300. It's tall. I looked at one in a row of other shiny new bikes with the salesman and a couple of punters showing interest in my boarding attempts. I stopped Karate 25 years ago. I've never been a ballet dancer... I need a quiet car park to perfect the stirrup method. The bike is still in the cheap bracket and I will have a go on one.
Various Chinese and japanese 400s plus. Suddenly a lot more money. Big GS etc, VERY expensive and incredibly heavy for off-road. Yes I still have TBWMNBN, all 670lbs of her. She dwarfs a lot of bikes, but is a doddle to ride. No plans to sell.
I might wait a little. The 210 will appear at some point and 200s will start popping up second hand. Finding one that hasn't been repeatedly bounced off boulders and dropped in rivers might be interesting though. A nice 1980s 1990s trail bike rebuild might be an alternative plan. Anyone got a GS for a couple of grand?
