Went for a ride.
« on: June 19, 2024, 07:16:56 PM »
The weather finally warmed up so I went for a ride today, about 35 miles. The bike performed great, it's finally dialed in. The steering was loose so I tightened it but got it too tight so had to come back and loosen it up a bit. It seems good now. I recently installed some higher and longer handlebars, fortunately all of the cables and brake hose were long enough so no modifications were required. It is a much more comfortable, upright seating position now.
If you can't fix it with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

I've been out on mine too. She's been far too long sitting waiting for the rewire to finish, and I've had a few days off.... If I do this again, I'll make a new loom.

After riding the bike who must not be named recently, the airhead feels like a pushbike / 125. Obviously goes a lot better (860cc) and I'd forgotten how much fun it is. The Yam is fun in a completely different (but similar??) way. Two wheels, big engine, grippy tyres etc.

The airhead has RT bars (and fairing) and I also like the fairly upright position  8)
