R65RT Acewell replacement
« on: March 18, 2024, 10:34:25 AM »
Hi all, the gauges in my R65 are still functional, but tired. The Raleigh Grifter foam pad also looking very old, if not in actual bad condition.

So I've fitted an Acewell 85mm Speedo with RPM and idiot lights. It works really well.

But now the pad and  gauge has gone, I can see the guts of the ignition switch and wires, plus all the black painted stuff inside the fairing. Like the inside of a Lancaster under the pedals  :(

1 relocate key to chassis and hide all the wires under the tank?
2 chop ignition key/ gauges / brake splitter bracket down and just leave one neat gauge in the centre?

Open to ideas. I'll get a pic...

The splodges of white gloss were there when I bought it...... Or could be whitewash from the picket fences around the old airbase...    :engel017:
