What does everyone else do?

BMW 860 Pragmasis DIB U lock and Milenco 12mm chain to wall anchor.
Yam 1300 (parked in way of BMW), Mammoth 12 mm chain and Litelock X1 to wall anchor. Plus Oxford disk lock.
Both in garage with additional steel framing and side bolts.
2 1/2 tonnes of Mercedes blocking garage door when i'm home  ;D

I take the U lock(s) with me on the road. Occasionally a 9mm loop chain to go around something solid as well.

I have a double berth lockable garage with one side the home of the tin top and the other for three motos.  A few years back someone broke into the garage by pulling one of the doors open (the motos side).  Local police suggested it may have been a juvenile and the only things taken were bags.  Quite confusing as the unlocked car was not opened.  They opened the panniers of the K75 and took the bag containing a spare clutch and throttle cable.  Grrr.

As the support between the doors is not very wide I now have a piece of steel plate with a hole at either end.  Through this is a bolt with a penny washer which slides through the spring mechanism.  I can unbolt one side only to open that door as the door handles are locked so as to be only opened from the inside.  Also a piece of round steel at the other ends to lock the spring in places. The garage although attached to the house has two external doors.  Makes it just about impossible to open the garage doors from the outside.  I only unbolt the door when necessary and keep a pair of dedicated spanners inside the house.  If away on a trip or overnight, the doors are always bolted down.

All three motos also have a four foot padded cable and padlock running through the rear wheel and frame to prevent them being wheeled away.  Single key for all padlocks and a key on each moto key ring.  If somebody wants to take one then I am not going to make it easy.  Car is now always locked inside the garage as well.

I don't live in a problem area and believe it was a random juvenile attempt but at the same time it was a wake up call just to be security conscious.  It's not as if the motos are worth any serious money or even attractive to a thief.
