I must give a big Kudos to all who showed up and helped us (Brett and I) at the tech day. Yes, you too Ed, thanks for braving the big city traffic.
Especially ORAM Garry Newby, who helped more than most despite, not getting it fixed, and telling me my clutch is toast. Please don't confuse my constant ribbing, teasing, and banter with ungratefulness. Dave from Vancouver was a dispensable resource for loaning us tools and knowledge.

What happened at the tech day, was we pulled two trannies form mid seventies bikes. Brett's 90s and my 60/5 toaster. Fortunately for me, there were people there who knew what to do. While I was messing with my trannie, several others were removing my rear swing-arm, to look for a missing u-joint bolt, clutch, and assembling it all back so I could roll the carcass of a bike around and home. We did eventually get into the gearbox, and fiddled with it to no avail. At one point, it wouldn't shift at all, but upon reassemble it was back to status quo. But after sleeping on it for a night, I think the solution is a re adjustment on the1-2 shift fork. I'll probable go back in and try to fix it at my leisure. It should be simple, as the retaining nut is eccentric, and right on top.
Symptom: Bike won't shift into first gear. Culprit was believed to be an incorrectly index shifter. We moved it one tooth, which buggered up all the gears, then moved it back to where it was (the correct position.)
