Front Disk

Hello again brains trust - how is everyone

I am about to fit a second disk to the front. I have bought all new brakes lines top and bottom - (steel braided of course) - and splitter. A 2nd hand calliper which i have fully refurbished. I already have a 15mm master cylinder fitted.
.
So my question is - how to bleed the new system. I'm guessing as it's 2 completely isolated lines I should bleed one calliper at a time. But being unsure I need some advice.

Hiya, It's actually very simple as all the bubbles tend to go up to the master cylinder and out through the little bleed hole. You will also find that simply opening the taps at each caliper fills 90% of the system.

Then squeezing the lever in out with the taps closed gets most of the air out out and then finish off with the squeeze and close a couple of times each side.

If you let it sit, it almost does it itself apart from the very last bit in the very end of each caliper where the bleed tap is.

In this situation, I fill the system from below. I use a Mity Vac pump to press the fluid from one bleeding screw and when liquid shows in the master cylinder reservoir, I close the bleeding screw and change caliper.
If you are lucky, the system is filled and bleed in one go...

The one time I had my system drained I also filled from below using a large syringe. Worked a treat with very little if any further bleeding necessary.

I think that is called an "Enema"

Thankfully I've never had one of those but I do see how it reads

I bleed the usual way with a hose off the bleeder down in tome fluid.  When I get it to the point where I have a fair "pedal" I clamp down on the lever as hard as I can and secure it with a tie-wrap overnight.  The next day clip off the tie-wrap and the lever will have zero sponginess!
