Boxer Cafe cockpit cover, mini fairing
« on: February 05, 2022, 09:09:49 PM »
WANTED: I need a Boxer Cafe Cockpit cover for R65  in almost any condition.  I spent the better part of a Saturday afternoon lost in the "ether zone" researching alternatives that might fit a n RAny help or ideas will be graciously received. My thought process that the simple alternative to the original LS fairing still survives although there are alternatives out there.

Thanks in advance from the sunny Southwest

Not quite sure what you are after.

Can you throw up a picture to provide a better idea?

I have a complete LS fairing every nut and bolt, turn signals speedo, tach , head light , headlight bucket, the whole 9yards. When I removed it I put every thing in a plastic tub. If that is something you want to do we could discuss...... I was going to part it out piece by piece but I have enough projects I'll never get around to doing.............. :-\

I have tried to copy a photo and a page from Max BMW fiche with no luck..Check the max Fiche for '83 R65 toward the ends of the list and you will the BMW HL which I would also interested in. The Boxer Cafe fairing can be seen at Boxercafe.com and it is almost identical to the HL The downside is Boxercafe is shut down and has been for a while because of the owners health issues.  Not sure if or when they'll start up again.

Sorry I am digitally challenged and couldn't copy pictures over to this replay....new guy here.

If the first pic is what you are seeing in the fiche, the Boxercafe is a reproduction of that  very fairing.

thanks to all. I scored a used OEM HL cockpit cover. You will see this on the parts fiche at Max and some others but it is NA. The one I got was reasonable will require the mounting hardware that is still available and some TLC, a minor repair and a repaint when I paint the bike.. I also had a great conversation with Gustafson Plastics in ST Augustine about a small wind deflector similar to ones he has made for the boxercafe.com  R65 fairings when they were in business.

Thanks again. All info was greatly appreciated.
